We’re working hard to get back up and running at the Regal.

Here’s a quick recap on the story so far…

Our building suffered a lot of damage in the floods in February. The lower level of our art-deco auditorium was flooded to a significant depth, damaging seats, and the timber floor. The Box Office and Studio area at the rear of the building were also flooded.

After a long drying out phase, refurbishment work is now well underway. This includes new seats and flooring, as well as improved bar and dressing room spaces for our customers and performers. We’re also working on the exterior of the building and are confident that before long, the Regal is going to look better than ever.

We’ve also been dealing with the impact of coronavirus. This has meant re-programming live events for 2021 and planning how we can re-open as a cinema, in a safe and socially distanced way, later this year. If you have tickets for any of the live shows planned for this Autumn, someone will be contacting you soon about the new show dates.

We don’t yet have a date for re-opening, but when we do, we’ll share it. We know just how frustrating this can feel, but please do bear with us.

In the meantime, our focus has been on protecting the future of the Regal. We’re working hard to:

• Raise funds - through seat sponsorship and grants. We’ve been delighted to receive funding from the BFI FAN Covid-19 Resilience fund and are also hugely grateful to Tenbury Town Council and Malvern Hills District Council for their support

• Understand what our customers value about the Regal and any areas for improvement

• Provide online activities and contact for our Regal Theatre School students

• Support our staff (with help from the government’s financial support schemes)

• Develop training packages for our volunteers

We really can’t wait to welcome you all back. We know just how important and special the Regal is for our town.

We need your support more than ever. Thank you so much to our staff, volunteers, and customers.
