Team Co-ordinator for the Front of House
Tim moved to the area two years ago and having attended a recruitment day, decided to become a volunteer, with the hope of meeting new people in the town, making new friends, and getting involved in the community.
Tim ran his own business for 15 years selling high end, bespoke bathroom fittings. He led a team of 12 staff, and built relationships with clients, customers and manufacturers. Prior to this he worked in the automotive industry for Rover as a Project Manager.
Tim used the transferrable skills that he had developed throughout his career, whilst also learning about the theatre, how it operates, and how the teams all work together. Originally Tim trained as an engineer but moved more into Sales and Project Management.
Since being at the Regal Tim has met a wide selection of people - all with different skills to offer, has made many friends and contacts, becoming more integrated within the local community.
Tim started at the Regal as an usher, and now supports the Bar, and is a Team Co-ordinator for the Front of House (FOH). Tim is keen to develop other volunteers who wish to join the FOH team. Tim enjoys the FOH role as he finds it rewarding, he enjoys interacting with the customers as they arrive at the Theatre and is there to ensure they have an enjoyable and safe experience. The role can be demanding at times, with a need to use your own initiative, being able to take charge of any situation that may occur. Ideally we need people to be able to commit to at least one show a fortnight.
It doesn’t really matter what background and past experience you have, you just need the right attitude, and a friendly spirit.
